Malta Maritime Museum

The Malta Maritime Museum illustrates the global nature of seafaring and its impact on society. It also charts Malta's maritime history and lore within a Mediterranean context. The Museum is placed in the former British Naval Gakery at Vittoriosa. The building, designed by British architect William Scamp, was built between 1842 and 1845 on the site.

It's worth to see The Vaxxel Model - The 300 year old model is one of the 8 original models in the Malta Maritime Museum collection. It is a unique working model which reminds us of a bygone era.

You have to see also The Dagħjsa tal-Latini Model. It's a traditional Maltese boat ( Gozo boat) and it was a ferry boat, which plied Maltese water. The Dagħjsa tal-Latini Model was used in Malta up to the 1950s.
