Rahmi M Koç Museum Istanbul

The Rahmi M Koç Museum is the first maritime museum in Turkey dedicated to the history of Transport, Industry and Communications. Housed in magnificent buildings -themselves prime examples of industrial archaeology. On the shore of the historic Golden Horn, the collection contains thousands of items from full size ships and aircraft to gramophone needles.


Fenerbahçe was built by William Denny & Brothers Dumbarton, in 1952 in Scotland, Glasgow. The ship with both 1.500 horsepower Sulzer diesel motors and twin screw can make 18 mil speed.


USS Thornback (SS-418) was originally built at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, USA in 1944. It is more than 93m long, and displaces more than 2,400 tons. The boat saw service in the Second World War against the Japanese before being decommissioned and placed in the US Navy Reserve fleet in 1946.
