Naval Museum of Madrid

The "Naval Museum of Madrid", located on Paseo del Prado avenue within the majestic, marble-lined headquarters of the Ministry of the Navy, is home to a collection focusing on the naval history of Spain, and also offers an overview of the navies of other countries.

It includes a major ethnographic collection, displayed in chronological order from the time of the Catholic Monarchs through to the present day, comprising stamps, medals, maps, paintings, nautical and scientific instruments, artillery, submarine weaponry, manuscripts and so on.

In its modern collection, special mention should be made of the Spanish Navy flagship, the aircraft carrier "Príncipe de Asturias".
