Navy Museum St. Petersburg

The "Navy Museum in St. Petersburg", located on the eastern tip of Vasilyevsky Island in a builiding modeled after a famous Greek temple, informs about the developement, growth and achievement of the Russian navy.

Its collection of over 800 thousand exhibits include fascinating naval memorabilia, armaments, authentic maritime equipment, quality models of historically significant vessels and numerous paintings by marine artists.

The boat of Peter the Great, the founder and thus "Grandfather of the Russian Navy", on which he learned how to sail.
